are you making it hard for people to buy from you?
If you’re reading this blog, you likely own a business. And you might be interested in ways to grow your business.
The most important part in all this is that your people have a way to buy from you without having to interact with you. it will save you so much time and energy AND STRESS!!!
If you’re not sure how to achieve this – stick around – I have some tips.
I write this blog because I find that sometimes, we business owners can make things difficult for ourselves. And our customers for that matter.
And one of the best ways to sell more, is to make it easy for people to buy.
confused buyers don't buy
If your customers are unsure, in the slightest bit, they will not proceed in the sale.
Don’t fall into this trap! If they don’t know what the next step is, or HOW to buy, they just won’t. Mainly because it gives the impression that you’re not confident in what you’re selling, and it might make them feel that you’re a little dodge. Not for any reason other than you don’t feel confident. And that, in turn sends their BS 💩 radar in to override.
Making things easier for people to buy makes your life so much easier. And having systems in place in your business that can automate those jobs, will make it easier again.
Automating jobs is simply setting up systems within your business to make tasks happen automatically. So, you don’t have to do them, they just happen without you having to even think about it.
Think about this, when someone wants to take you up on your offer, are you ready to go with payment links in place, or are you reinventing the payment system every time someone buys?
Is there that moment of panic when someone says they want now buy of “What do I do now??”
Cause if you do, and if there is panic, you’re making it difficult for people to buy. And it doesn’t take much for people to decide to go somewhere else.
There’s so much choice today, we need to make it as easy as we can to allow people to buy from us.
here's how!
So, one of the easiest ways to help people buy from you is to have systems set up in advance.
If you have e-commerce options on your website, that’s always a good one. That way you can send out a link in chat or email.
Having it to hand makes you look:
A) more professional
B) More organised
and C) (BONUS) it helps you feel calmer and more in control of the sales call!
Who doesn’t wanna feel in control on a sales call, huh?
tip 2:
Another one is to use a CLEAR CALL TO ACTION.
Unless we explicitly tell people what we want them to do, they won’t do it. We always have to assume that there’s a 5 year old trying to buy from us. We’re guiding them to a purchase through whatever online substrate you’re using.
If there’s no CTA (call to action) on your landing page/website, then don’t think that people will ask you how they buy.
We have to assume that people don’t have a clue how to use the internet.
tip 3:
Check that all your payment processes are set up.
Trust me here. This will save you so much time and hassle.
The goal here is to be hands off. That’ll never work if you don’t have these set up.
You don’t even need a website for this, you can set up payments through PayPal and GoCardless.
Check that your links are all working correctly. This is really important, cause if your links aren’t working then people simply can’t buy.
I don’t need to go into why broken links are a bad thing, they are for so many reasons!! But don’t let them impact your income – for the love of money – don’t do that!!!
tip 4:
Check that all your email sequences are set up and ready to go.
Again, we’re working on the hands off approach here.
Are your email sequences in place so that when someone does purchase, they get the confirmation email and the thank you messages etc? It’s a really important step in the whole buying process, and one that you don’t need to manually do every time someone buys!
Everything I do is about making your life easier, so that you can focus on doing the things in life you love.
If thats more work – go for your life! If its spending time with your family, or spending more time alone, good for you. One thing I do know it isn’t, is doing more admin and mundane boring business type jobs.
No one wants that (well maybe some people…) so automate what you can, do what you love and when you’re in a position to – outsource the rest! that’s the goal here, right?
Don’t put roadblocks in the way when its already a really hard market!
