how to set goals to help you grow your business in 2024

2024 is almost here. And people are thinking about next year. Today I’m hear to talk to you about how to set goals to help you grow your business in 2024.

I’m definitely winding down, my brain just isn’t working as I want it to! 🫣 (AKA *NOT* productive)

But that’s OK, I do this every year, and I plan in advance for it. Cause it’s inevitable. It’s like my brain kinda shut down, ready for hibernation.

I also eat, like a bear. 🐻

I’m not alone in this, surely!

So anyway, I have a little secret. I don’t set resolutions for New Year. I find it overwhelming and generally unrealistic. We have these grand ideas that things will be changed, and if we haven’t hit our goal by February we fall off the wagon and give up!

so here's how i set goals to help me grow

I hope it will help you.

I don’t set resolutions. For many reasons, but I am a massive fan of personal development and I try to make it part of my daily life.

Plus, improving a little bit each day is waaaaaaay less pressure than trying get the buff body and million £ turnover business IN A MONTH!!

Yes, that is often how people view their resolutions… they have these giant goals, and by Feb they’re either completely overwhelmed by them or gutted they havent hit them.

Way too much pressure, dude.

resolutions vs goals

I set goals.

I set a yearly goal for each of the following:

  1. Health
  2. Financial
  3. Spiritual
  4. Family

I do that yearly and then I break it down into quarterly, then monthly and weekly.

And then I try and make sure I have daily implementables (I made that word up, yes) that will get me closer to each goal.

You might think that this would be overwhelming – but it really isn’t!

my daily non negotiables

I’ll let you into a window of my goal setting.

This is for my health goals, cause everyone’s health goal is basically the same. Be as healthy as possible.

I make sure I get up before the rest of the house every day. Quiet time is really important to my sanity! And there isn’t much of a chance of it once everyone is up. So I get up early, for the sake of my mental health.

Mental Health: I get up, I meditate, and I read. I try to stretch, but in winter, I try to stay in bed as long as possible, I just don’t like being cold. 🥶

Mental & Physical Health: I also make sure I get yoga in 5/7 days, especially in winter as I don’t always go out walking. In summer I do daily walks in nature, but as I said, I don’t like the cold, so winter isn’t my fave time to walk!

Physical Health: I try to get to the gym 3 times per week too, just after I drop the kids off at school, I go and do weights for 45 mins to an hour. Movement is really important, as is staying strong.

I try and sit down each Sunday and plan the meals for the week and order the food shop.

Evenings I make sure I switch off gadgets at least an hour before bed. Make sure I get some family time in and we eat a healthy meal together.

I do have a healthy coffee before bed too, I’m not saying this is for everyone, but coffee doesn’t stop me sleeping, and my coffee is so healthy, it is worth it! ha ha EXHALE COFFEE. Check them out

Remember, without your health, everything else is more difficult. So value your health over everything. No point having a mega successful business and not being able to enjoy it.
