First Impressions: Do they count in business?

Do first impressions count in business?

And does a good first impression help you make the sale?

Well, I hope you know the answer to that.

Its yes. First impressions are important!

If you’re in the know, you’ll know that it takes a measly 7 seconds to make a first impression (on average). Basically a quick look over and  JUDGED.

But on the internet that is slashed to as low as 0.5 seconds in some cases!

So this is why you need a great website, photos, and branding.

It just helps you get over that first hurdle in your marketing. We’re a fickle old bunch when it comes to appearance and to be honest, I’ve done it myself.

If a website is ugly (hate using that word – beauty is in the eye of the beholder!) or is hard to use, I’m off! You know what I mean, that first impression is that feeling you get from a business as you land on their website.

Remember, that first impression is limited on the web to that window that land on only. You need to get creative!

94% of the first impressions on a website are based on its visuals and design.

Sadly on the internet, we don’t think for ourselves (unless we’re judging 🤣) so your design needs to be clear and easy to use – with a clear outcome, AND attractive!

Hard to accomplish, but the checklist for an attractive website is:

  1. great images
  2. bold attractive colours
  3. easy to read (glance at) headline

38% of website visitors don’t engage if they find the layout unattractive.
