5 easy ways to market your business
Marketing! Argh!
Don’t worry, it’s how we all feel, even the people that work in marketing. But dont fret, there are ways to be imaginative and here are 5 easy ways to market your business in 2023. Even if it feels overwhelming.
For me, effective marketing is about getting organised and doing things you enjoy (or as much as possible).
It can feel a little like doing the washing. Its a constant rotation that never ends. Challenging to say the least.
The good news is though, that you dont have to do them all, and you can get really creative with it. Oh and in today’s digital age, it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. ☺️
let's get to the marketing:
The biggest way to market your business and get found locally would be setting yourself up on Google My Business (GMB). Its a really important tool for getting you locally found by people doing a Google search.
You can also treat it like a social profile, by posting to it. Each post has the possibility to be a link, that goes back to your website. Get your Google reviews there, and have all your contact information on there too. Its an amazing little tool.
I could talk about GMB all week, there are a million more benefits to having a GMB profile.
social media:
As I mentioned previously, you don’t have to do all of these to grow your business. Pick and choose what you want to do in your business.
Social media is one of the most effective ways to get found online, but its also the biggest pain in my a**. I hate it with a passion. This one, to me feels like a big job. However other people love it.
This is something I outsource for that reason. I think its important in business to spend your time wisely, and doing sh*t you love.
If you don’t love it, but you feel its necessary for your business, then let someone else do it for you!!
- I use socials to drive traffic to my website
- Create awareness of my brand
- Sell my products
- Communicate directly with my audience and customers
email marketing:
Now this is my kind of marketing.
I love to write, I love to create. I love that I can do it as often as I choose. And I LOVE that its talking to people in their space, because they chose to let me.
Email audience is your people.
The biggest hurdle here is having a plan about what you’ll be writing to them about. Because half the battle is getting people to open the email!
- So get creative with your subjects
- Make sure every email encourages your reader to take “the next step”
- Track opens and unsubscribe the inactive subscribers to keep your list clean
blog:
Blogging is great. By making your content useful to your audience, you can keep them coming back to your website.
It also helps with SEO, and user engagement. There’s a great blog here that’ll help you write.
It’s a great all rounder and it means you have extra content for socials and emails, because they all feed each other.
- Create snippets of your blog to create a post.
- Create a video from the content in your blog
- Send your blog out in an email
recycle, recycle, recycle:
I’ve already touched on this above, but no one has the energy to constantly create new stuff. It might appear that way, but not a chance!
You’ve already done the work so creating newer versions of old work is always sensible.
- turn a webinar into a tutorial
- create an e-book from a pdf download
- turn a blog into a vlog
final thoughts:
You’ll notice that a lot of these ideas revolve around getting people back to your website. It’s a bigger piece of the digital puzzle than we give it credit for in the B2B arena.
